About the Firm
MacRaeJoyce Architecture PC. was formed in 1967 by John S. MacRae (retired) and has been in practice since that time. Having undergone several name and personnel changes the present firm, MJA, has been in operation for eight years.
MJA's philosophy on architectural design is witnessed in our many building types: "Many uses for many people for many years." Budget is the client's main concern, thus it is ours. Over forty years of experience, practical applications and construction administration enables MJA to provide each client with the most economical building possible. MJA prides itself on its understanding of and use of economical materials, materials suited for each different type building, construction assemblies, utility systems and its ability to provide a pleasing appearance within an economical building. Longevity, maintenance, economical construction, aesthetics and minimal environmental impact are our goals in each project undertaken.
Project management is always handled by a registered architect and every client is assured of dealing with the same professional throughout project development and construction. This provides a level of comfort and confidence for the client as well as the architect and affords the client a constant source of information and communication.
MJA is registered as a professional corporation in North Carolina. Archer T. Joyce AIA is registered to practice architecture in NC and VA, is certified by the National Council or Architectural Registration Boards and has been a member of the American Institute of Architects since 1976.
