Welcome to MacRaeJoyce Architecture PC

Firm History

MacRaeJoyce Architecture PC was formed in 1967 by John S. MacRae AIA (retired). Archer T. Joyce AIA now heads the company with over forty years experience in all aspects of architectural practice and holds a National Council of Architectural Registration Boards certification with practice registrations in North Carolina and Virginia.

While not claiming a design specialty, MJA is fortunate to have had continuous church work throughout the majority of the past twenty years.  Projects includes worship centers, educational facilities, family life centers, commercial kitchens, recreational facilities, parking and master planning.

MJA also worked with the Guilford County School system during each of the last three bond programs, designing additions to existing facilities, each completed on schedule and under budget, the last being classrooms and a new media center for McLeansville Elementary School (McLeansville, NC).

While most of MJA's work has been within commercial construction, we have provided architectural design services for multi-family projects and single-family residences.  Additional commercial experience includes the North Carolina SBI Laboratory (Raleigh, NC), various general and professional (dental) offices.  Representative public clients include the Greensboro Housing Authority, NC School of the Arts, Guilford County Schools and the State of North Carolina.
